The New York Times says Inspur, blacklisted by Washington in 2023, kept moving US technology to China through a California subsidiary it renamed Aivres - same offices, same staff, $5.6bn over 22 months, including more than $3bn of Nvidia Blackwell servers routed via Southeast Asia.

The Information now puts Thinking Machines' raise at $5bn to $6bn on a pre-money of at least $40bn, with Nvidia supplying roughly half - the chip vendor bankrolling a lab that will spend the money on its chips.
